  • When to Replace Your Floor Mats

    Posted by Douglas Stampfli on

Once the right mat was initially chosen, you should be able to get a lot of use out of your commercial mat, but eventually they’ll reach the end of their useful lifespan. Here are some common signs indicating that its time to swop out those mats.

For traditional matting you must consider things like: Are you still getting traction? Has your logo faded? Is the mat still absorbing the moisture and dirt you once chose it for? Is the mat surface worn out in a particular area?

In cases where you have purchased a building and there was a Recessed Grill at the entrance: Does it have texture left? Have the aluminum rails sustained damage? Is the pan loose below and the surface uneven?  Then it’s time to look at an update, chances are technology has changed since that grill was installed and you’d be getting a product that will survive longer than the last.

Something additional to note. Having a backup is always advisable, so when buying a mat, buy two, as it’s important to be prepared for the unexpected, especially when it comes to the safety of your employees and customers. Heavy rain and snow can be tough on any surface, it’s important to stay ahead of the elements and have backups.
